Law School Waitlist Form

There are a number of reasons why the Admissions Committee relies on the Wait List, including our adoption of a “rolling-admissions” review process in which files are reviewed on an on-going basis, year-to-year variance in the percentage of admitted candidates who accept an offer of admission, and, cancellations among those who initially commit to enroll at the School of Law. The wait-list process allows the Committee to evaluate select candidates in light of greater knowledge of the applicant pool and in light of fuller information regarding the size of the entering class.

The Admissions Committee invites select applicants to receive continuing consideration for admission via the Law School’s wait list process. Candidates placed on the wait list are considered to be capable of academic success and are considered to possess qualities that the Committee hopes to find in members of the entering class. In a typical year, as many as 50 offers of admission are extended via the wait-list process. Such offers may be extended as early as March and others may be extended as late as August. It is common for offers of admission to be made in late April after the first deposit deadline and again in May and June.

Candidates who wish to receive consideration for admission via the wait-list process must complete this form in order to ensure continued consideration for admission. Candidates not admitted in the early phase of the wait-list process will be asked to complete this form in subsequent months in order to ensure that the Admissions Committee is giving consideration only to candidates who have an on-going interest in attendance at Ave Maria School of Law.
