Thank you for your interest in Ave Maria School of Law, and in our students and graduates. On behalf of President, Dean and Professor of Law, Eugene R. Milhizer and the staff of the Career Services Office, I welcome your interest and I look forward to assisting you with your hiring needs.
If you are not yet familiar with Ave Maria School of Law, allow me to provide you with the following highlights:
- Our student body is a national one, with the typical entering class consisting of students from 40 or more states and several nations. These highly motivated and talented men and women have been selected for admission as a result of their academic ability, those personal qualities that we believe are important to the successful study and practice of law, and their wish to benefit from the distinctive legal education that Ave Maria School of Law provides.
- Our rigorous required curriculum of 60 credit hours ensures that all students are grounded in the fundamentals of the law, including both doctrinal knowledge and professional skills. In the 30 credit hours of elective courses, students may tailor their curriculum to meet their particular interests and career goals.
- Our students have multiple opportunities to exercise their legal skills through participation in externships, skills-based courses such as Mediation, ADR, Client Counseling and Trial Advocacy, and though our distinctive clinical programs.
- Our faculty's approach to teaching ensures that students have a mastery of the technical skills to effectively serve their clients and that they develop an appreciation for approaching their future profession with the highest degree of ethics and integrity.
- The quality of our program is also evidenced by the 57 judicial clerkships (47 federal) that our graduates have secured, as well as by their employment by national and regional law firms. Our graduates have also been successful in obtaining employment with state and federal governmental agencies such as the U.S. Departments of Justice and Homeland Security.
We invite you to participate in our recruiting program by contacting our office directly. We are here to assist you and look forward to facilitating a relationship that would be mutually beneficial.
Sincerely,
Victoria W. Ryan
