Professional Experience

Before joining Ave Maria School of Law faculty, Professor Castaldi worked for several international and governmental human rights agencies, including UNICEF’s regional office for Latin America and the Caribbean and the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights. She was also a legal advisor to the National Congress of Honduras on human life and family issues. Professor Castaldi is a board member of the International Solidarity and Human Rights Institute (ISHRI) and an academic advisor to peer reviewed law journal Prudentia Iuris of the Pontifical Catholic University of Argentina. Courses taught by Professor Castaldi include international law, international human rights law, and family law. She is faculty advisor to the International Law Journal. Her scholarship focuses on the right to life in international human rights law, particularly, in Latin America and the Caribbean.
