Professor Theresa Reid teaches legal analysis, writing, and research at Ave Maria School of Law. A summa cum laude graduate of Ave Maria Law and former appellate judicial clerk, her professional and academic interests include constitutional law, legal writing, appellate advocacy, and the intersection of law and public policy.

Biography

Professor Theresa Reid serves as an Assistant Professor of Legal Analysis, Writing, and Research at Ave Maria School of Law, where she teaches foundational legal writing, research, and analytical skills to law students.

Professor Reid earned her Juris Doctor, summa cum laude, from Ave Maria School of Law in 2020. During law school, she distinguished herself academically and professionally through judicial internships and leadership within the Ave Maria Law Review, where she served as Executive Articles Editor. She interned for the Honorable Carol Mirando, United States Magistrate Judge for the Middle District of Florida, and the Honorable John L. Badalamenti at Florida’s Second District Court of Appeal.

Following graduation, Professor Reid clerked for the Honorable J. Andrew Atkinson at the Florida Second District Court of Appeal, gaining substantial experience in appellate practice, legal analysis, and judicial writing.

Before pursuing a legal career, Professor Reid earned her Bachelor of Arts in Theology and Psychology, with a minor in Human Life Studies, from Franciscan University of Steubenville in 2015. Following graduation, she spent seven months serving at Maggie’s Place in Cleveland, Ohio, a ministry supporting women experiencing crisis pregnancies and caring for mothers and children in need. She subsequently taught high school theology and psychology before attending law school.

Professor Reid’s academic and professional interests include constitutional law, legal writing, appellate advocacy, jurisprudence, and the relationship between law and public policy.

Professor Theresa Reid serves as an Assistant Professor of Legal Analysis, Writing, and Research at Ave Maria School of Law.

Prior to entering the legal profession, Professor Reid worked at Maggie’s Place in Cleveland, Ohio, serving women experiencing crisis pregnancies and supporting mothers and children in need. She later taught high school theology and psychology before attending law school.
