Marcia Nawrocki is an Assistant Professor of Legal Analysis, Writing, and Research at Ave Maria School of Law. She brings extensive experience in legal practice, corporate counsel, and higher education to the classroom. Before entering academia, she practiced corporate litigation and real estate law in Chicago and later served as Senior Corporate Counsel for Nicor Gas Company. She subsequently taught for 20 years in the upper-level legal writing program at IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law. Her teaching experience also includes business law at Dominican University and Ave Maria University.

Biography

Marcia Nawrocki is an Assistant Professor of Legal Analysis, Writing, and Research at Ave Maria School of Law. She brings extensive experience in private practice, corporate counsel, legal education, and student advising to the law school.

Professor Nawrocki began her legal career at law firms in Chicago, where she practiced in the areas of corporate litigation and real estate. She later joined Nicor Gas Company as Senior Corporate Counsel, with responsibilities that included corporate affairs, management of outside counsel, and risk management.

During her legal career in Chicago, Professor Nawrocki served as President of the West Suburban Bar Association. She is licensed to practice law in Illinois and has been admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, the U.S. Tax Court, and the Supreme Court of the United States.

Professor Nawrocki subsequently brought her professional experience into the classroom. For 20 years, she taught in the upper-level legal writing program at IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law. She also served as a professor at Dominican University, where she taught business law in the university’s M.B.A. program.

After relocating to Florida, Professor Nawrocki joined Ave Maria University, where she taught business law and served as faculty advisor to business and pre-law students. She also moderated the university’s pre-law club.

Professor Nawrocki earned her law degree from Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley Law School and an LL.M. in Taxation from DePaul University College of Law. She is also a graduate of DePaul University.
